Microdose, explained honestly

Microdose is not maintenance. It's the right dose for active modest loss.

The same active ingredient as Mounjaro and Zepbound. Prescribed at the lower doses calibrated for adults actively losing 10 to 25 pounds. Not for severe obesity. Not for post-loss maintenance. The lane that did not exist until Sliver.

Standard GLP-1

Built for severe obesity

Full-dose tirzepatide and semaglutide were designed and approved for adults with a BMI of 30 or more. The dosing escalates to treat the hardest cases, and the side effects (nausea, fatigue, GI issues) scale with the dose.

  • Dose 5 to 15 mg weekly
  • Designed for BMI 30+
  • Side effects Often significant
  • Cost $250 to $400/mo
Sliver microdose, active loss

Built for actively losing 10 to 25 pounds

Same molecule. Prescribed at the lower weekly doses that drive modest, sustained, active weight loss without the side effect profile of full-dose treatment. This is not the maintenance microdose other brands sell. This is the dose that actually moves the scale for adults with 10 to 25 pounds to lose.

  • Dose 1.25 to 2.5 mg weekly
  • Designed for BMI 25 to 30, active loss
  • Side effects Typically mild
  • Cost $189/month

A note from the founder

"I built Sliver after watching friends spend $300 a month on full-dose GLP-1s that were designed for severe obesity when all they wanted was to lose the last 15 pounds. The medication is the same. The dose should match the goal. That is the only protocol Sliver prescribes."

Common questions

The questions we get asked most.

Wegovy and Zepbound are FDA-approved finished products designed for adults with a BMI of 30 or more (or 27 with a related condition). The doses escalate to clinically meaningful levels for treating obesity. Sliver uses the same active ingredients (compounded tirzepatide) but at the lower weekly doses appropriate for people with 10 to 25 pounds to lose, not 100. Same molecule, calibrated dose, much lower side effect profile.
Most microdose brands position their product as a maintenance protocol for adults who have already lost weight on a full-dose GLP-1 and want to hold the line. Sliver is the opposite. Sliver is calibrated for active weight loss in adults with 10 to 25 pounds to lose. The dose is selected to actually move the scale, not just to maintain. If you are at or near your goal weight already and looking for a maintenance protocol, Sliver is not the right fit and we will tell you that.
Sliver is appropriate for adults with a BMI between 25 and 30 (or up to 32 in some cases) who want sustained, modest weight loss. We do not prescribe for adults with active pregnancy, certain thyroid conditions (MEN2), history of pancreatitis, active eating disorders, or other contraindications. The assessment screens for all of this, and the provider has final say. If you are not a fit, you will not be charged.
Side effects of tirzepatide are dose-dependent. At microdose levels (1.25 to 2.5 mg weekly), most patients experience mild nausea in the first 1 to 2 weeks that resolves as the body adjusts. Some report reduced appetite, mild fatigue, or constipation. Serious side effects are rare at these doses. Your provider will discuss the full profile before prescribing.
Most members notice reduced appetite within the first 1 to 2 weeks. Sustained weight loss typically begins in week 3 to 4 and continues steadily. Most members reach their goal weight by month 4 to 6, depending on starting weight, diet, and activity level. Results vary.
Honest answer: the active ingredients are FDA-approved. The 503A compounding pharmacies that prepare Sliver's medication are state-licensed and FDA-registered. The specific compounded formulation is not approved as a finished product the way Mounjaro is, because compounded medications are prepared per individual prescription. This is the same regulatory framework that allows compounding pharmacies to prepare custom medications across all of healthcare.
Your prescription is filled by a state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacy in the United States. The specific pharmacy depends on your shipping state to ensure proper licensure. We share the pharmacy name with you on your first shipment and you can verify its license at any time.
Cancel any time, no questions, no fees. Pause for travel, holidays, or any reason. Most members stop after reaching their goal weight and many return for maintenance protocols. We do not lock you into long-term contracts.
Yes. Sliver is HSA and FSA eligible when paired with a Letter of Medical Necessity from your prescribing provider, which we can provide on request after your assessment is approved.
